Montgomery County Launches Enhanced Drone Program to Boost Emergency Response
Montgomery County is expanding its “Drone as First Responder” program, which is designed to improve emergency response efficiency. This initiative, funded with a $350,000 budget, will deploy drones to critical areas in downtown Silver Spring and Wheaton. These drones will be used to assess emergency situations before ground officers arrive, potentially reducing response times and improving safety.
